By 1957, the first commercial skydiving schools began to appear, and the National Parachute Riggers-Jumpers, Inc., started in the 1930s, became the Parachute Club of America. PCA renamed itself the United States Parachute Association in 1967. Some drop zones use tandem jumps to introduce students into the solo training programs. The tandem is the fastest and easiest way to be introduced to the sport parachuting. The three most common tandem skydiving systems in use are the Strong Dual Hawk and United Parachute Technologies Sigma Tandem. Most skydivers have an automatic activation device (AAD) that will deploy the reserve parachutes at a certain altitude shoudl they become incapacitated in some way.
