When tandem jumping, one parachute system is used by two skydivers. The student jumps together with the instructor after some ground training has beed completed. The jump will usually be between 8,200 and 14,000 ft. Students practice the jumps by steering the parachute, when jumping in tandem with their instructor. Parachuting has complex skills that can take thousands of jumps to master, but the basics are often fully understood and useful during the first few jumps. There are three types of first-time jump courses from which a novice can choose from: tandem, static-line and harness-hold. People use to call harness-hold jumps accelerated free fall (AFF) jumps in the United States. The Bay Area Skydiving drop zone is a US Parachute Association affiliated parachute center. Start your freefall adventure training courses at our skydiving school taught by USPA rated instructors and jumpmasters. The tandem freefall skydive is with the safety of an experienced instructor in a harness built especially for two! After training you and your instructor will exit the plane at 14,000 feet and will have about 60 seconds of freefall before opening the parachute. The common parachute has three main parts: the main canopy, the reserve canopy and the harness-container system. Tandem Training generally takes less than 30 minutes, and depending on a number of variables, a student may spend only half a day for the training and the jump. Professional experienced instructors Although most first time skydivers start with Tandem first jumps, our skydiving instructors will help you learn to skydive whether you start with tandem skydiving or AFF.
